Building Review | | (Photo : Iwan Baan) | Vakko Fashion Center and Power Media Center, Istanbul, Turkey - In Istanbul, prisms of glass and mirrors form a kaleidoscopic geometry that reflects people's movements with a distortion of gravity. Human activity is thus transformed into representation. Does experience create spatiality? Is it possible to separate space from its representation in order to experience a real confrontation of it? Building practice commonly seeks above all to sustain the infrastructure and purposes of functionalism. On the other hand, however, design always searches for the creative potential linked to the interaction between humans and space. A kind of "relationality" based on an experience of the subjectivity of space could be the basic building block. | | | | | Agenda | 30 September to 2 October, Barcelona | European Biennal of Landscape Architecture more | | | | 30 September to 21 October, ETH Zrich | Roger Frei l Hannes Henz: Architecture Photography Positions, Exhibition more | | | | 2 October to 14 November, DAZ Deutsches Architektur Zentrum, Berlin | Formula_X: Plasma Studio: Nodal Landscapes, Exhibition more | | | | 3 October, Museum of Modern Art, New York | Small Scale, Big Change: New Architectures of Social Engagement, Exhibition Opening more | | | | 4 to 6 October, LARVA Laboratorio de Arte Variedades, Guadalajara | COM:PLOT 2010, Congress more | | | | 7 October, University of Toronto, Toronto | Jan Gehl, Cities for People, Lecture more | | | | 9 October, Julius Shulman Institute at Woodbury University, Burbank | IMAGE .
